Admission Day @ Lotus Valley

Some background - my daughter was 3 yrs 6 months old, eligible for admission to Nursery in Noida. We were in Gurgaon earlier and thankfully shifted to Noida. Had we been in Gurgaon, she would still be in playschool.

The journey to Lotus Valley International School began in September, when I started filling the forms for various schools. Since we were in Gurgaon then, online admission form made life easy. My husband who is working in Noida went to submit the form. We were called for interview soon.

Lotus Valley Internation School, Noida
When we entered the school, we were impressed with the outdoors, huge open area, shaded walkway, ample parking space for buses, a beautiful fountain at the entrance, a round building which looked different than most schools... overall impressive. The school has a ramp in addition to stairs to enter the school building. I could guess it was to facilitate entry for specially enabled people (on wheelchair) and for kids to stroll their heavy bags... thats a thoughtful design!

Finally, impressed with the external structure, we went inside. Again, a decent reception, full of other parents like us. The school had a life size teddy at the reception, which attracted kids to no end. But sadly, there was a 'Dont Touch' board on it. And then, I saw Mrs. Arora. Being an Apeejay School alumni, I had seen mam in the school campus... and next I saw Arora Sir, Vice Chairman of the school. It was reassurance personified, that my daughter would be in safe hands.

That's not it. I knew that the principal was Madhu Chandra Mam, again a well known and loved teacher of Apeejay School. When she walked in, she stood tall, elegant, and smartly dressed in a beautiful saree... an impressive and warm persona. We were called inside. She asked a few basic questions about us and our family. Interacted with our daughter, asking a few questions to gauge her presence of mind, observation and speaking skills - all in all a 10 minutes session. Thats it!

We came out and within the next 10-15 minutes, we were offered the letter of admission. It was as quick as that. Mrs. Arora answered all our questions with complete patience and ensured our doubts were cleared. We deposited the check and Bingo! My daughter was admitted to the school.

To summarize, it was a quick journey. We were saved from the hassle of running around to fifty schools. This was the second school, and we had managed to get the admission, with the security of having Arora sir and Madhu Chandra mam as the leadership team.

Thank you Lotus Valley!
A satisfied mother
